One of our goals at the BFC is to encourage emerging talent and provide them with opportunities to showcase their work, learn from industry experts and create a collaborative environment to help nurture their professional growth. Filmmakers in this category must be 18 or younger (when the student film was made).

Synopsis: A lonely nine-year-old boy wants to save his mom from his abusive father, but he feels powerless in the middle of all the fighting... that is until he steals his father's gun.

Butterfly

Synopsis: Butterfly is the first film written and produced by a 12 year old Ariela Rozentul. This film is inspired by a true story and a loss of a dear friend.
Butterfly introduces a Girl who is trying to understand the reasons for dying young. She discovers that sometimes our sacrifices can be the biggest gifts to the people we love.
Created by a 12 year old and directed by 2 young women, this film can relate to so many people of a wide age range and hopefully help many who lost their loved ones.
